GWHIRL-WORLD
GWHIRL-WORLD
I like to get crafty.
I like to use my hands and build scenes & stories and sometimes, I write what they’re about too.
Please enjoy. Or don’t.
POWER.
I’ve always been captivated by power, particularly singular influence. Or rather, people’s infatuation with it and their ultimate obsession. Their dance and demise.
I examined the types of power and their meanings. It is both a retrospective and prospective exploration that time is all too familiar with. In doing so, power became conflated with beguiling enticement and ultimately subverted this statement I found that underpins this collage.
Something I wrote:
Power buys more than money. Power is access. Power is ego. Disgusted? Didn’t think so.
Singular power at that level is seductive. Heady & intoxicating, like an extra dirty martini. Filthy. You immediately knew what level of control I’m referring to. Debonair. Dangerous. Yet, you just ordered one?

OBJECT OF desire?
Using Jan 2024 Vogue Australia edition & old sewing magazines I found at a garage sale, this is my favourite collage to date.
Exploring domesticity and domestic items in the 1950s to today - questioning whether women or objects are the objects of desire.
